After reading the article The Development of Professional
Competence of Future Professional Teachers by N. A. Muslimov and Kh. Sch. Kadyrov, I was
full of thoughts...
To become a teacher needs a lot of efforts, experience
and time. However, a good teacher is like a treasure.
Chinese proverb says “Give a man a fish, and you feed
him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”.
N. A. Muslimov and Kh. Sch. Kadyrov said that teacher`s
professional competence is a dynamic, versatile and multifaceted term, its
content is changing according to the public and educational processes. Nevertheless,
it is not enough to know the subject for a well-qualified teacher because the
teacher is not only the source of knowledge. Working with students demands from
the teacher different methodological techniques, psychological knowledge and
even a worthy of respect personality.
N. A. Muslimov and Kh. Sch. Kadyrov assure that
teachers` professional competence embraces professional knowledge as well as
motivational and affective aspects and can be learned and taught. They describe
the teacher as the person who has to perfect himself the whole life.
To sum up, I would like to express my point of view
that becoming a competent teacher is a long way, which includes personal
development to a greater extent for helping children to communicate with the
world using all their potential and strengths to overcome all obstacles around
us. Mark Van Doren “The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery”.
