The development of computers has changed the flow of everyday life. People use computers for fun, work, education and communication.
Nowadays students can find every answer in a minute, that`s why teacher isn`t a resource of knowledge anymore, teacher is a mediator between students and materials, he (she) leads students in a right direction, giving pieces of advice. It`s a great job to keep abreast with the times and provide students only with advantages of using new technologies but it is possible.
That's why teacher should develop every minute! I am fond of seminars and webinars about Teaching English as the Second Language.
I have visited two seminars in International House, which were held in Kyiv on topic Fun Dictations in Class and Teaching with No Materials. It was unbelievable to be part of such beneficial and informative workshops.

I also have joined two webinars Preparing Young Learners For Exam Success

and Ideas for Jump-Starting Digital Citizenship at Your School.

I really like the way speakers present the information! It is full of examples and amazing ideas how to improve yourself!

Very informative article by Rebecca Belchamber

Communicative language teaching (CLT), or the communicative approach, is an approach to language teaching that emphasizes interaction as both the means and the ultimate goal of study.

We know that lessons should be communicative oriented, but are they actually? Some of them are, some are not. That’s why the teacher has to adopt each activity in order to make it more communicative. There is the demand-high approach, that can be used as well. The point is to change activities for getting better outcomes. Moreover, there is 3XP approach, which is applied in the work with the same exercise three times to surf in it deeper and practice it more and more.
Rebecca Belchamber describes main elements of CLT:
·        Communication – According to Ability
·        Accuracy as Well as Fluency
·        Promoting Learning
·        Motivation
Real situations and communicative activities make our students “switch their minds on”, think critically and even explore. It is a crucial moment in students learning to feel autonomous and more self-confident.
The world has changed, the society has changed, and everything has changed. Nowadays we live in a networked society and a teacher isn`t the only one source of knowledge. That`s why the main role for the teacher is a mediator. Without a teacher, the whole information may become unnecessary and incomprehensible.

The Teacher is alive until he is learning, in other case the inner teacher is dead.

After reading the article The Development of  Professional Competence of Future Professional Teachers by N. A. Muslimov and Kh. Sch. Kadyrov, I was full of thoughts...

To become a teacher needs a lot of efforts, experience and time. However, a good teacher is like a treasure.
Chinese proverb says “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”.
N. A. Muslimov and Kh. Sch. Kadyrov said that teacher`s professional competence is a dynamic, versatile and multifaceted term, its content is changing according to the public and educational processes. Nevertheless, it is not enough to know the subject for a well-qualified teacher because the teacher is not only the source of knowledge. Working with students demands from the teacher different methodological techniques, psychological knowledge and even a worthy of respect personality.
N. A. Muslimov and Kh. Sch. Kadyrov assure that teachers` professional competence embraces professional knowledge as well as motivational and affective aspects and can be learned and taught. They describe the teacher as the person who has to perfect himself the whole life.
To sum up, I would like to express my point of view that becoming a competent teacher is a long way, which includes personal development to a greater extent for helping children to communicate with the world using all their potential and strengths to overcome all obstacles around us. It's Never Too Late to Integrate!

Hello!
Some days ago I`ve read an absorbing and beneficial article by Martha Walsh Dolan “Integrating Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing in the Classroom” and I want to share it with You!

In natural, day-to-day experience, oral and written languages are not kept separate and isolated from one another. Instead, they often occur together, integrated in specific communication events.
When we communicate, we use not only one language skill. For example, during telephone conversation, we listen and speak. I strongly believe that integration of all skills has a lot of advantages. Students are exposed to authentic language and are involved in meaningful activities. I think it is a good idea to show them the whole picture of functioning and complexity of the language. Teachers are given the power to lead students and the way of integrating skills is the most effective and motivating for students.
Martha Walsh Dolan described aims and priorities of an Integrated Class in her article. She presented two types of integrated-skill instructions: Content-Based Language Instruction and Task-Based Instruction. In Content-Based Instruction, students practice all the language skills in a highly integrated, communicative fashion while learning contents such as science.
In Task-Based Instruction, pair and group work is often used to increase students` interaction. For instance, students work together to write and edit a class newspaper or enact scenes from a play.
Moreover, the methodologist provided us with “The Hero: An Integrated Course in Action”. The more this approach is valuable, the more it is challenging for teachers and students.
According to Barbuzza et al (2008) the essential part of teaching is to insert the realization of what learners can do with the language, rather than using the forms of language. We have to remember the rule: “Skills cannot be isolated”.
